The next WEC happens from the Hard Rock in Vegas on Sunday, August 9th and will be shown on the VERSUS network live at 6 PM in the Northwest (9 PM ET). The main event features the WEC World Bantamweight Championship between Champ Miguel Angel Torres (36-1) and Challenger Brian Bowles (7-0).

WEC: Brown vs Faber II

Bout 1 - 135lb

Seth Dikun def Rolando Perez by Triangle Choke @ 2:30 Rd 1
Rd 1 - Hard one, two from Seth- Perez moving and counter punching. Perez catches Seth's leg and drops him with right hand! Seth stands, and they clinch- Seth drops to his guard and sunk a flying triangle choke that caught Perez. Perez still fighting stands and slams Seth. Seth dropping elbows from guard to a caught Perez. Perez trying to hammer fist to loosen Seth up, crowds booing for what reason I do not know. Seth turns a little and gets Perez to tap by Triangle choke @ 2:30 of Rd one.


Bout 2 - 135lb

Frank Gomez def Noah Thomas by Arm Triangle Choke @ 3:12 Rd 2

Rd 1 - Inside leg kick by Noah, answered by a right hand from Gomez. Crowd wanting action as both feeling each other out. Noah gets rocked and goes down. Gomez using knees in clinch, while Noah looks for a takedown. Gomez rejected Noah's attempts at a takedown; yet Noah still trying for single leg - Can't get it. Noah falls back into guard, Gomez Hammer fisting and landing elbows. Noah riding high guard, and Gomez landing little shots from inside Noah's guard. Noah working for submission but every time he opens up he pays for it! Noah pushes Gomez up with his feet and Gomez falls right back on him landing hugs shots as the crowd goes nuts. Gomez bangs away elbows blooding Noah to the crowds screaming. Spaniard-(10-9 Gomez)


Rd 2 - Gomez attempts flying knee, clinch ensues, and Noah falls to ground. Gomez capitalizes with top position again pounding from Noah's Guard. Noah's guard open, climbing trying to tie up Gomez's hands. Gomez staying inside Noah's guard feeling comfortable pounding from inside Noah's guard. Gomez scoring, lands nice left elbow then passes & sinks a head and arm choke!

Steps to side mount and tightens away-getting the tap out @ 3:12.


Bout 3 - 135lb

Antonio Banuelos def Scott Jorgensen by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
Rd 1- Antonio counters with a hard right that got Scott backpedaling; fighter's clinch- Antonio gets takedown lands some body shots from inside Scott's guard. Scott scrambling gives up his back, and then eats some punches; but manages to get to his feet. Both clinch, Scott flings elbow on break. Another clinch as Scott lands knee to Antonio's stomach, Antonio fires on break away! Both trading jabs, then a head kick misses for Scott. Antonio gets Scott into cage in clinch- high kick to takedown attempt from Scott then lands right; a lot of back and forth action from both. Scott chases- Antonio moving quickly lands combo and nice leg kick to the body that stuns Scott. Round ends with combos from Scott and head kicked missed.

Spaniard (10-9 Antonio)


Rd 2 - Jab from Scott- Antonio pawing and moving, landing punches and moving as Scott chases. Scott lands knee from clinch to Antonio's head. Scott wrenches on Antonio's head pulling him to ground, Antonio scrambles, both trade punches inside clinch then break! Antonio moving quickly, making Scott chase him, going in, and out. Both fighters trade punches- Right lands for Antonio as sticks and moves. Scott lands nice overhand right, right uppercut, then they clinch again. Antonio gets out of clinch, Scott chases. Scott trying to tie Antonio up and use some dirty boxing. Scott misses huge uppercut, both trade punches from clinch. Round ends with both fighters trading punches, and Scott lands knee to Antonio's body.

Spaniard (10-9 Scott)


Rd 3-  Round opens up the same with Scott chasing and Antonio moving in and out. Antonio catches leg and both go down, crowd goes nuts as they get back to their feet. Scott consistently pressing the action again, and is landing shots every time he gets inside the pocket. Scott's getting his timing down, but Antonio is firing back. Scott seems to be landing more shots when they exchange but Antonio is staying in it. Scott lands knee to jaw, Antonio answers with a right hand. Fighters clinch, both still content with trading in the clinch. Scott is all over tony as they hit the ground. Antonio stands up, but Scott all over Antonio. Antonio gives up his back, scott transfers and gets top control. Scott passes guard and lands shots. Scramble- round ends with up kick by Antonio, crowd goes nuts! Spaniard (10-9 Scott)

Split Decision for Antonio- Crowd boos hard!


Bout 4 - 155 lb

Anthony Pettis def Mike Campbell by Triangle Choke @ 1:49 Rd 1
Rd 1 - Campbell catches head kick attempt by Pettis- Pettis goes for standing guillotine but gets slammed. Pettis looks for an Armbar, Campbell escapes and stands to his feet. Campbell throws hard punches to downed Pettis. Campbell looking to shuck Pettis' feet, but in scramble Pettis tightens a Triangle choke. Campbell sits, yet after short adjustments Pettis gets the tap @ 1:49 to stay undefeated


Bout 5 - 135lb

Rafael Rebello def Kyle Dietz by Rear Naked Choke @ 2:55 Rd 1
Rd 1 - Dietz superman's his way inside on Rebello. They clinch, both swing on break and Rebello lands right hand. Dietz barrels in- Clinches and a scramble ensues, Rebello gets top position passes to half guard, then passes to side mount. Dietz gets up and Rebello controlling his head. Dietz gives up his back. Rebello looking to sink Rear Naked Choke and gets a baseball choke for the victory handing dietz his first loss via tap out @ 2:55.


Bout 6 - 145 lb

Manny Gamburyan def John Franchi by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Rd 1 - Couple leg kick attempts by John to start the fight. Manvel barrels in and gets takedown. Manvel starts working from inside John's guard. Manvel pressing John into cage and landing body punches. Manvel goes for heel; John uses it to escape and gets Manvel's back. Manvel escapes attempting kimura then switches to arm bar. John defends by holding shorts then transfers to Manvel's back; however he loses position and ends up on his back. Manvel brings John closer to cage as he fires off elbows. John ties up Manvel holding his head. Refferee stands them up after a delay in action, spinning back kick just misses for John; another misses the mark. Jab lands for John, Manvel shoots and presses John into cage. John defends takedown well, round ends with Manvel pressing john into cage in clinch. Spaniard (10-9 Manvel)


Rd 2 - John pawing the jab. Manvel explodes with hooks dropping john with right hand and attacking with punches as john's works to get his guard. Armbar attempt by John Manvel defends and hammer fist away peppering John with elbows from guard. John ties Manvel up and the ref stands them again-Both trade both missing wildly- John lands an uppercut to the groin-Wow! Manvel gets much needed time. Crowd getting restless, fight restarts-Jab, then leg kick by John; Manvel goes for clinch looking for takedown. Wild right hand by John, but Manvel gets takedown then gets John into cage. Manvel still pounding away from guard controlling top position. Round ends in John's guard. Spaniard (10-9 Manvel)


Rd 3 - Manvel hugs John to start the round. Head kick by John is blocked by Manvel. Manvel gets takedown again, and starts landing some ground and pound from inside John's open guard. Manvel content on keeping John pressed into the cage and striking from inside John's guard. John landing some annoying shots from bottom. John not doing too much damage with those shots though. Hammer fist from Manvel, John using rubber guard to tie up Manvel. Manvel gets to standing then jumps and punches downward. Manvel gets up again and sneaks his way back into johns guard this time. Manvel landing shots almost slapping John as John smiles at him. Manvel standing, John's down- Manvel kicks John's legs and gets back into John's guard. Kind of repetitive, but working as Manvel lands and scores at will. Crowd booing as Manvel kicks a downed John's legs then gets back to John's guard. Round ends with Manvel dropping back for heel. Crowd not to happy! Spaniard (10-9 manvel) Unanimous Decision for Manvel 30-27


Bout 7 - 145 lb

Josh Grispi def Jens Pulver by Guillotine Choke @ 0:33 Rd 1
Rd 1 - Jens gets takedown Grispi looking for guillotine, sinks it and Jens taps right before he went out. Grispi pats Jens back as Jens is clearly upset. Grispi wins via tap out @ :33 due to Guillotine choke. "I think I just ended in the same place I started" "I'm not saying I'm done yet" Said Pulver, as he leaves the ring in tears.


Bout 8 - 155 lb

Donald Cerrone def James Krause by Rear Naked Choke @ 4:38 Rd 1
Rd 1 - Donald smiles and throws a leg kick; James goes for takedown-scramble back to feet. James gets Donald back to ground. Working to pass guard, but Donald escapes in scramble and gets back to his feet; however James brings him right back down. Donald traps an arm but James rolls out ends up in guard with Donald on top. Donald passes guard, but James works diligently and both get back to feet. James's mouth is open and he is breathing hard. Donald looks composed, James shoots Donald defends gets standing guillotine and uses it to land nice knee; James smiles. Donald lands right hand that drops James. Donald turning it up lands straight right to a downed James then scrambles and gets James back. Cowboy is dropping bombs from James's back; Donald is just peppering James with punches. Donald flattens James out and sinks a Rear Naked Choke for a decisive victory @ 4:38 


Bout 9 - 145 lb

Jose Aldo def Cub Swanson by KO (Flying Knee) @ 0:08 Rd 1
Rd 1 - Right from opening bell Aldo lands flying knee that ends Cub's night -WOW! What a shot! Cub hits the ground and covers immediately! Jose Aldo Via TKO @ :08 Cub has huge gash above left eye. Aldo now has the fastest KO time in WEC history!


Main Event - WEC Featherweight Championship

Mike Brown def Urijah Faber by unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47)

Rd 1 - Faber opens with kicks- cautious; they clinch Brown pushes Faber into cage. As the fighters separate Faber lands nice right hand. Faber lands in and out as the crowd is going nuts. Two punch combo lands for Faber, Brown swings and misses. Faber goes for guillotine, but brown gets out and gets Faber down. Brown takes his back and Faber stands- Brown lands knee to head. Faber shucks takedown and they both swing. Left lands for Faber then brown lands right gets north south and uses it to get to side mount; back to north south. Round ends with Faber getting back to his feet. Spaniard (10-9 Faber) 


Rd 2 - Nice left hand lands for Faber-still being elusive, crowd chanting Faber, Faber, Faber. Head kick blocked by Brown. Brown pressing lands right hand and chases Faber to ground. Brown gets to side mount, Faber scrambles but brown stays on him. Brown all over Faber, yet Faber gets back to his feet. Faber goes for a backwards elbow and Brown uses it to get the takedown. Brown gets to side mount and Faber reverses-they get back to standing. Faber pawing at Brown, Brown presses the action. Brown catches Faber and gets takedown but Faber quick to get back to his feet. Faber lands left, Brown not faded round ends with both fighters standing. Faber seems to have hurt his hand? Spaniard (10-9 brown)


Rd 3 - Left hook misses for Brown, kick misses for Faber. Brown pressuring- Faber on move, flying knee by Faber doesn't stun Brown at all; but right elbow lands and Faber gets the champ down. Faber using elbows and clearly something is wrong with his hand. Brown uses guillotine to reverse Faber then gets Faber's back. Faber attempts to spin out and gets back to his feet while Brown chases. Knee lands for Faber. Elbow and knee from Faber, Brown still chasing. Clinch and Brown is boxing to the body. Brown drops for takedown-Faber stuffs and reverses; both go for ankles and a foot war ensues-scramble then back to standing. Left kick to body lands for Faber, right hand-Brown doesn't seemed phased, yet losing pace a little. Round ends in clinch. Spaniard (10-9 Faber)


Rd 4 - Brown stalking Faber- punches to body lands push kick to face. Brown clinches and uses dirty boxing, left lands, right uppercut then left for the Champ. High kick blocked by Brown. Dirty boxing working in clinch for Brown; both land right hands. Missed right hand by Brown to clinch. Brown goes for single- nope. Uppercuts land to body for Brown; Brown landing a lot in clinch. Brown landing lefts and rights. Faber not even using his hand. Brown throwing shots, Urijah moving and avoiding. Clinch- Brown turns Faber into cage round ends in clinch. Spaniard (10-9 Brown)


Rd 5 - Crowd on their feet! Left by Faber, a kick to the body lands for Faber. Brown turns and shucks Faber to the ground then gets Faber's back in scramble- Faber gets loose. Left lands for Brown; both trading punches. Brown picks up Faber and slams him- then lands some shots from top position. Back to the feet Brown ducks a punch and goes for takedown and almost gets it, but Faber stays up. Crowd on their feet- Left by Faber- kick to body lands for Faber. Brown turns and shucks Faber to ground then gets his back in scramble-but once again Faber gets loose. Left lands for Brown both trading punches. Brown picks up Urijah and slams him to the ground. Brown lands some punches from top position. Back to standing position Brown ducks a punch and goes for takedown, but Faber defends. Brown looking to get takedown again and Faber grabs North-South choke but looks like he can't finish it probably due to his hand. Brown drops and escapes back to clinch. Brown lands some dirty boxing in clinch and ducks under to get another takedown, yet once again Faber doesn't stay down. Round ends in scramble with Brown getting Faber to his back. Spaniard (10-9 Brown) Decision for brown unanimous decision
