CJ Marsh KO'd Andrew Ramm in the main event

UFC Fighter Bristol Marunde put on his promoters cap for his latest Reign Fighting Championships event on June 29th at the Clearwater Casino and Resort. This was Reign FC's first event at the casino, located just a short ferry ride from Seattle.

With the cage setup outside on the casino's lawn, complete with a gorgeous view and perfect weather, all that was needed was good fight action. This the fighters delivered in droves, with all 10 bouts - 2 pro & 8 amateur - bringing the excitement. Afterwards, Marunde spoke with NW Fightscene about the successful event as well as his own upcoming fight August 3rd against Viscardi Andrade at UFC 163 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

In the main event, CJ Marsh, repping White Buffalo Warriors and the new UFC Gym in Seattle, knocked out Hybrid MMA's Andrew Ramm midway through the 2nd in an absolute slugfest of a fight.

The other pro bout was a highly entertaining affair that saw Julian Dutkel of Flores Fitness win his pro debut over Irish Hit Squad's Sparky Rodriguez via split decision.

In amateur action, Full Circle Fight Club's Kyle Cavasos was too much for Jake Blaski, scoring a 3rd Rd TKO win. Blaski was hurt, holding his ribs, going into the third but fought on. Cavasos took advantage when he got Blaski in a clinch, threw up a perfectly placed knee to his midsection, and Blaski immediately doubled over unable to continue.

Two amateur heavyweight fights took place both ending in the first round. Axel Garcia got William Miller to tap to a guillotine, and Jorge Moreno landing a big punch that dropped Reid Hazlebaker whom he then finished on the ground.

Reign FC's Fight of the Night went to Full Circle's Franklin Wilson and White Buffalo Warrior's Ardany Mora in an amateur 170 lb contest. The hard hitting Wilson dished out the punishment on Mora who had taken the fight last minute, but Mora continued to battle throughout. It went to the judges who saw it 30-27 for Wilson.

Another bout going the distance was between Valhalla's Sean McNulty and Justin Juarez out of Flores Fitness. Juarez caught McNulty early with a right hand that momentarily had McNulty out. But McNulty recovered his senses, then fought his way back in utilizing some great takedowns and wrestling skills to take home a majority decision.

Nicholas Wayne Ross and Josh Reyes both came out swinging and it was Ross who caught Reyes, finishing him up on the ground for the quick TKO. Mitchel Cartwright stopped Daquan Phillips with a TKO in a fight between two young independents. And opening the fights, Base Fitmass MMA's Ryan Schecterson battered Ken Maxfield for a round, forcing Maxfield's corner to stop the bout before the 2nd.
