The Full Contact Fight Federation put together another stellar card at the Roseland Theater in Portland OR and in the ten year's now since the very first Rumble at The Roseland in 2001, the FCFF has been showcasing the best amateur talent that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. But even the best have bout trouble and this particular card provided some setbacks for match maker Kevin Keeney. However Keeney dipped into his Mixed Martial Arts talent pool and found replacements and we fight fans reaped the benefits of a main event championship title bout and a total of 19 fights overall. Hat's off to Keeney and the entire FCFF team.

The main event was for the FCFF 155 lb Title and Gladiator MMA's Austin Springer had numerous opponent switches before Midtown MMA/Oregon Kickboxing Academy's Josh Spencer stepped up. Springer came out and made quick work of Spencer, quickly establishing mount then snagging an arm when Spencer gave up his back in the first round at 49 seconds in. Springer said he was happy with the win but was eyeing the 145 title as well.

Spaniard's pick for "Fight of the Night" was a 185lb bout between Team Quest's Tommy Grajo & Cory "Agnar" Wyatt from Midtown MMA/Oregon Kickboxing Academy. Grajo came out and landed a huge overhand right on Wyatt right off the jump to get things started. Wyatt though kept his composure and kept pressing the fight, getting the takedown and top control on ground that had Grajo on the defensive, except for the times when Grajo had Wyatt defending submissions. This was a fight that had you on your feet and was one for the books. In the end there has to be a winner and the judges saw it for Cory Wyatt by unanimous decision.

A new FCFF 125 lb champion was crowned in stunning fashion as Intrepid MMA's David Converse took out current champion Shaun Nance by Armbar at 1:28 in the first round. Both fighters came out lightening fast but it was Converse who was the quicker when he caught Nance's arm and got the tap.

In another 125lb bout that could have title implications, Alex Corrales from Erik Victor Submission Academy & Jesse Lane from DogPound MMA went round for round, splitting them razor close. It was 1-1 after two rounds on Spaniards scorecard. Corrales pulled out the split decision victory over Lane after grabbing the takedown in the third and holding ground control for most of the round.

Alive MMA's bantamweight prospect Bob Valls looked impressive defeating Chris Gillespie in only 36 seconds by Armbar. Valls didn't sustain any injury in the fight and should be back out and competing soon after this quick win in "The Slammer".

The FCFF travels to Lincoln City on Aug 27th for Caged On The Coast 5 happening at the Chinook Winds Resort. They then return to Portland's Roseland Theater for Rumble at the Roseland 59 on Sept 24th. More info at www.TheFCFF.com.
