Rumble at the Roseland 51 - May 22nd Event Preview

Press Release from The Full Contact Fighting Federation

On Saturday, May 22nd the FCFF returns to Portland to host Rumble @ The Roseland 51. This marks the return of FCFF Lightweight Champion "Malibu" Jake Morris. Morris who is undefeated at 6 wins and no losses in MMA action is coming off his first season of college wrestling at Clackamas Community College. "Malibu" will take on the undefeated (in the FCFF) Clint Patterson of Alive MMA.

For the 185-pound Championship Dominic Fredrickson, a Portland Fire Fighter, is looking to bring home the belt to the Portland Fire Bureau. He will take on Darren Starks of Corvallis, OR. One interesting point about this fight is the weigh cut. Reaching 185-pounds is a difficult cut for both fighters. On Saturday night we will find out if this has an effect on either of their performances.

Kevin Fox lost a tough decision to FCFF Light Heavyweight Champion Larry Munyon on March 6 at Rumble @ The Roseland 50. Munyon relinquishing the title to move to the pro arena and Fox is back! He is still the number one contender in the FCFF, lets see if he can seal the deal for the FCFF Light Heavyweight Championship. This time he must take out the undefeated Jake Zeliff of Grants Pass, Oregon.

For the Welterweight Championship, CJ Beard will bring his 9 wins and 6 loss record all the way from Idaho to take on the impressive Chad James of Team Quest. Both fighters are strong and skilled. This fight could defintely be fight of the night.

In the women's bout, Janna Piper of Touch M Up MMA returns to the cage to take on a very tough Maygen Sato of Idaho. Piper lost to champion Glena Avila in a very controversial decision. Avila then was challenged by Sato, and many believe Sato won the first two rounds against Avila, prior to Sato loosing by TKO in the third round. The bottom line is, both fighters are looking for another shot at Avila. The winner will put herself one step closer to a possible re-match with the champion.

Do not miss this night of fights, four championships, one woman bout and ten action packed undercard fights! More info at
