ALL 14 BOUTS OFFICIAL FOR STAR-STUDDED WOMEN'S MMA EVENT


KANSAS CITY, Kan. (July 27, 2012) - All 14 bouts, including the highly-anticipated bantamweight (135 pounds) main event between Shayna "The Queen of Spades" Baszler (14-6) of Sioux Falls, SD. and 2004 Olympic wrestling silver medalist and undefeated rising star Sara McMann (5-0) of Gaffney, SC., were made official today for the Invicta Fighting Championships all-women's professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event tomorrow/Sat., July 28 at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, live on InvictaFC.com.


The 31-year-old Baszler, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt and protégé of former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett, weighed in at 133.6 pounds while McMann, the first American woman in history to earn an Olympic Games silver medal in wrestling, tipped the scales at 135.4 pounds.



Tickets for the highly-anticipated Invicta FC 2: Baszler vs. McMann event, priced from $25, are available for purchase at Memorial Hall box office (913) 549-4853), online at Ticketmaster.com and InvictaFC.com and by phone at (800) 745-3000.


The live, free-of-charge stream on InvictaFC.com will begin at 7 p.m. EST/4 p.m. PST with the six-bout preliminary card and continue with the eight-bout main card. Veteran MMA voice Mauro Ranallo will call the action alongside MMA superstars "King Mo" Lawal and Julie "Fireball" Kedzie.


In the co-main event, Hitomi "Girlfight Monster" Akano (18-9) of Tokyo, Japan will square off with Japanese Jiu-Jitsu black belt and Cesar Gracie-protégé Alexis Davis (11-5) of Colborne, Ontario Canada at bantamweight.



In other main card action, U.S. Marine and rising bantamweight star Liz "Girl-rilla" Carmouche (6-2) of San Diego, Calif. will square off with St. Louis Park, Minnesota's Kaitlin Young (7-5-1), who earned "Fight of the Night" honors at the inaugural Invicta event on April 28.



JEWELS champion Ayaka Hamasaki (7-0) of Yamaguchi, Japan will square off with Lacey "The Ladie" Schuckman (7-4) of Lakewood, Colo. in a flyweight (115 pounds) matchup.



Hard-hitting Amanda "Lioness of the Ring" Nunes (6-2) of Salvador, Bahia Brazil will take on Raquel Pa'aluhi (2-2) of Wa'anae, HI.



Submission specialist Sarah "The Monster" D'Alelio (5-2) of San Jose, Calif. will face streaking superstar Vanessa Porto (14-4) of Sao Paulo, Brazil at bantamweight.



American prospects Barb "Little Warrior" Honchak (5-2) of East Moline, Ill. and undefeated Bethany Marshall (4-0) of Newport News, Va. will meet in a super flyweight (125 pounds) tilt.



Julia "The Jewel" Budd (2-2) of Port Moody, British Columbia Canada will battle Elina Nilsson (2-2) of Gothenburg, Sweden at featherweight (145 pounds).



Doors at Memorial Hall open for Invicta FC 2: Baszler vs. McMann at 5 p.m. and the first preliminary bout begins at 6 p.m.
