On this sunny Friday just north of Seattle at The Everett Events Center, The IFL was treated to the greatest legions of mixed martial arts fans around... the fans from the Great Pacific Northwest! With an attendance of 6,977, Everett welcomed The IFL with THE largest attendance to date for the organization, and certainly one of the loudest crowds in Mixed Martial Arts. The NW has truly embraced the team concept catapulted by The IFL, and were genuinely excited throughout the event.

Tokyo Sabres def Portland Wolfpack 3-2

Orville Palmer (Sabres) def Devin Cole (Wolfpack) by Split Decision

The night's action started fast and furious as Devin Cole battled Orville Palmer. With an incredible display of back-and-forth quality grappling action, the crowd got taste of first blood at a high pace. In a judgment that upset the crowd & critics alike, Palmer gets the split decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29). Tokyo 1 - Portland 0

Matt Horwich (Wolfpack) def Kazuhiro Hamanaka (Sabres) by KO at 2:07 Rd 1

Horwich and Hamanaka tie up in the corner in clinch, with Hamanaka scoring a takedown. Horwich scrambles to his feet and with very little hesitation lands a high kick to Hamaka's neck scoring a KO at 2:07 in Rd 1. The knock-out bring the team scores to a tie. Tokyo 1 - Portland 1

Vladimir Matyushenko (Sabres) def Aaron Stark (Wolfpack) by TKO @ 2:49 Rd 1

The second match was Aaron Stark vs Vladamir Matyuashenko, which had the makings of a potential super-fight. The first round opened & Stark shoots to meet Matyushenko's Sprawl-n-Brawl game. Vladdy took Stark down from clinch, then they stood back up. Vladdy took Stark down again though & took control of positioning, working his way to side-mount. Trapping Stark's arm briefly, Matyushenko was able to land some clean strikes from the side and forces ref Joe DeRobbio to stop the bout at 2:49 of the 1st Round by TKO. Tokyo 2 - Portland 1

Antonio McKee (Sabres) def Mike Dolce (Wolfpack) by Unanimous Decision

Dolce was bouncing & anxious before the bout starts. McKee controlled the takedowns through the entire bout, as well as positioning, but never found the answer to finish Dolce. Ref Anthony Hamlett stood the pair up three times throughout the bout, which found a restless audience booing in efforts to demand more action. In the end the decision (all judges 30-27) went to McKee as he secured a playoff position for the Tokyo Sabres. Tokyo 3 - Portland 1

Ryan Schultz (Wolfpack) def Savant Young (Sabres) by Unanimous Decision

Schultz & Young spent 3 rounds at war. With plenty of clinch fighting & grappling, Schultz was at an advantage. Neither fighter did any serious damage to the other, but with the ground control & ring dominance, the Unanimous Decision goes to Ryan Schultz (29-28, 30-27, 30-27). Tokyo 3 - Portland 2

Los Angeles Anacondas def Seattle Tiger Sharks 3-2

Benji Radach (Anacondas) def Bristol Marunde (Tiger Sharks) by TKO @ 1:28 Rd 1

Long-time NW fan fave, Benji "Razor" Radach, returned home to face a tough Bristol Marunde. The two clearly wanted to bang as they stood toe-to-toe exchanging combos & bombs as soon as the first bell rang. Radach rocked Marunde early and jumped on the opportunity to finish, leering over Marunde throwing heavy leather with razor precision until Joe DeRobbio stepped in to stop the bout at 1:28 of Rd 1. Los Angeles 1 - Seattle 0

Chris Horodecki (Anacondas) def Shad Lierley (Tiger Sharks) by Unanimous Decision

This lightweight bout had all the makings of Fight of the Night, and ultimately exceeded expectations. Trading combos throughout the first round made the Everett crowd very happy as they roared with approval. Both fighters withstood tremendous punishment, but consistently delivered accurate striking throughout the bout. Surprisingly, Lierley chose to not capitalize on his ground skills, but rather to test his newly acquired striking skills he's learned from coach Maurice Smith. After three of the night's most exciting rounds, the judges gave Horedecki the Unanimous nod (30-27, 30-27, 29-28). Los Angeles 2 - Seattle 0

Brad Blackburn (Tiger Sharks) def Jay Hieron (Anacondas) by KO @ 0:40 Rd 1

Hieron and Blackburn barely got started when Bad Brad caught Hieron with at :40 seconds with a KO in the 1st round. Los Angeles 2 - Seattle 1

Alex Schoenauer (Anacondas) def Allan Goes (Tiger Sharks) by KO 3:00 Rd 1

The two light heavyweights started and ended with a kickboxing match that Schoenauer dominated throughout. The bout ended in the first round by KO with Schoenauer pounding Goes with a straight right, then dropping bombs as Goes collapsed. With the KO coming at 3 minutes of the 1st round the Anacondas earned the 2nd team play-off position with this win. Los Angeles 3 - Seattle 1

Reese Andy (Tiger Sharks) def Krzysztof Soszynski (Anacondas) by Split Decision

The last bout of the night opened with Andy controlling from the top inside of Soszynski's guard, where he fought from through much of the fight. Soszynski reversed Andy at the end of the first to throw a few strikes of his own, but Andy dominated the opening round decisively. The 2nd round opened with another Andy takedown, and more of the same. Although Soszynski went for a several submissions throughout the night, it was to no avail. Reese controlled the takedowns, and much of the ground positioning, and that earned him the Split Decision from the judges (29-28, 29-28, 27-30). Los Angeles 3 - Seattle 2
