A
solid turnout was on hand for the latest iteration of Matt
Hume's Genesis Fight series, "Hostile Takeover",
which happened last Saturday night at Shoreline CC.
 
11
fights took place which included 4 Kickboxing and 7 Mixed
Martial Arts bouts.
The
main event was the USA (West) Finals of the 155 lb
Unified World Grand Prix tournament. AMC's Caros Fodor
moved on to the next leg of the UWGP tourney by armbarring
Team Quest's Blaine Macintosh in the 1st round.  
In
the first of two title fights, Victory Athletic's John
"Prince" Albert became the new Genesis
Lightweight Champion by securing an impressive 1st round
armbar submission over previous champion, AMC's Drew
Brokenshire.
 
AMC's
Brent Knopp succesfully defended his GENESIS Heavyweight
belt
with
a quick 1st round KO of Leo Hoover.
 
UFC
Superstar, Rich "Ace" Franklin, was on hand
cornering his training partner, Taylor Ruscin. Franklin
will be fighting again at UFC 99 in Germany against
Wanderlei Silva on June 13th. UFC Fighter, "Bad"
Brad Blackburn, was also present cornering John Albert.
Blackburn will next fight Edgar Garcia June 20th at the
Ultimate Fighter Season 9 finale in Las Vegas.
