Fight of the Night: Clint Patterson vs Patrick Benson
This fight featured 2 of the best up and coming wrestlers in NW MMA. Clint started off the fight with a head kick to Benson who was attempting a shot. Benson worked for a takedown but it was Patterson who brought Benson to the mat. Benson worked his way up and on to Patterson's back securing hooks. Patterson reversed the position and worked from Benson's guard. Benson locked up an arm bar that Patterson defended . Benson reversed Patterson and Patterson worked from his guard. Patterson scrambles and attempts an armbar from Bensons back but Benson defended well but with less than 10 seconds left Benson attempts to scramble out but leaves his arm vulnerable and Patterson extended. Benson didn't want to tap but Patterson torques the arm and forces the tap at the bell. Definitely the most technical grappling in an amateur MMA fight I've seen. Expect big things from both fighters. Benson is now 4-1 and Patterson moves his record to 8-4.

Submission of the Night= Jonathan Kelly (Forearm Choke from guard)
This fight was a grudge match months in the making. Wheeler came out ultra aggressive throwing big shots while Kelly stayed in the pocket counter punching with straight shots. After a big punch Kelly decides to clinch and attempt a takedown but Wheeler defended well and attempts his own. Both fighters trade knees from a clinched position. After separating more punches and kicks traded Kelly takes Wheeler to the mat. Wheeler is attempting submissions from guard but Kelly secures a mount position with Wheelers head against the cage and lands a huge punch at the bell. Wheeler looks hurt and needs help to his corner. Rnd 2 Fighters exchange and jockey for a clinch Kelly takes Wheeler to the mat and puts his forearm on Wheelers throat and begins to push. At first it looks like Kelly is using this to pass but Wheeler starts to panic and Kelly smells blood. Kelly uses his forearm across Wheelers neck to choke Wheeler unconscious. Wheeler taps as he is going limp. Jon Kelly wins rnd 2 via forearm choke from Wheelers guard! Jon accredits his success to his new coaches and his re-dedication to MMA training.

KO of the Night=Andrew Phillips (Strikes from mount)
Ellis comes out aggressive and lands a big kick to the body. Phillips grabs a single leg and Ellis grabs a guillotine. Phillips uses the choke attempt to secure the takedown and passes guard. Phillips works strikes and passes to the mount. Phillips postures up and starts throwing BOMBS! Ellis attempts to escape but his hit with a barrage of punches forcing his to cover until referee Dennis Hallman was forced to stop the bout. Ellis is visibly shaken after some big shots and Phillips is elated with another win under his belt. Ellis has a tough debut but has some skill. Andrew Phillips looks to step up to stiffer competition in his next outing.
