The long running "Battle at the Boat" series returned to the Emerald Queen Casino I-5 Showroom featuring pro boxers hailing from Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Texas, and Tennessee. Battle At The Boat promoter, Brian Halquist, has done close to 100 shows with the casino, and within the last year has had events broadcast on ESPN, Showtime, and HBO. Just one week previous to this particular show, Halquist teamed up with Strikeforce to bring MMA to the Tacoma Dome and the resulting event, broadcast live on HD Net, produced the largest gate in Washington State history for combat sports by reportedly grossing over $500,000 with 7000+ people in attendance. All this boils down to is that Halquist clearly knows what he is doing, and it showed for Battle At The Boat 63 which saw 6 very exciting pro boxing matchups that kept the near capacity crowd entertained throughout.

In the Semi-main Event, popular undefeated Lightweight, David "El Torrito" Torres, continued on the winning track by dismantling Donnell Logan in the 3rd round with quick combos and some solid right hands that sent Logan down to the mat twice where, on the 2nd occasion, he was unable to get up in time to beat the 10 count. 

The Main Event was a very energetic 10 round Lightweight bout that went the distance between Jason Davis of Vancouver, WA and Derrick Moon of Texas. Both fighters clearly enjoyed the slugfest, smiling the entire bout and egging each other on. Davis, with superior speed and counter punching, was the more effective of the two and the judges scored the fight overwhelmingly in his favor. When it ended, the combatants met in the middle for a final hug and laugh for a well fought bout. This sportsmanlike behavior was certainly appreciated by everyone in attendance. 

The series next event, Battle of the Boat 64, will be held on Saturday, April 12th.
